BENGALI FILM FESTIVAL

Bengalis of New York is thrilled to once again host the New York Bengali Film Festival to celebrate and showcase the talent and creativity of the Bengali diaspora. Enjoy a curated selection of noteworthy screenings and hear from filmmakers in a panel discussion moderated by Bengalis of New York.

Established and emerging filmmakers are encouraged to apply for the Second Annual New York Bengali Film Festival in summer 2024. Application coming soon. Stay tuned for the announcement!

2023 Inaugural Bengali Film Festival

Bengalis of New York hosted the inaugural New York Bengali Film Festival on July 13, 2023. The festival premiered the screening of The Culinary Bridge, a short documentary created by BoNY Founder Kamrul Khan that shines the light on Bengali street food vendors. Additional screenings included County, a documentary created by Fahim Hamid, and Mr. Lockdown, a short psychological thriller by Sayef Zaman.
