In this episode, we talk with Mary Jobaida, who is running for NYS assembly for District 37 in Queens, which includes parts of Sunnyside, Ridgewood, LIC, Astoria, and Maspeth.

Excerpt: “I remember when I was a child, there was a trial in my village to send a widow back to her parent’s village after her husband died, where she didn’t know anyone (since she had lived in her husband’s village for 45 years). That was the first time that I thought I could make a difference because I saw my mother and other women step up and speak up to not force her to go back. This inspired me since it was the minimal justice to allow her to stay. A tale of two cities definitely exists in New York City. There is a housing shortage. I live in Long Island City, and two of my friends are looking for apartments that are impossible to find, yet at the same time there are countless empty apartments in luxury buildings.”
